Weaving and Cleaning once more

I am weaving again and you don't know how long I have waited to be able to say that. I have woven about 12" on Sarah's blanket. I am thinking about weaving a rug for my bathroom and I can't do that till the blanket is done so onward I go. I know its been ages, this is what it looks like.

I've been changing things and moving them around so much I am really in a cleaning/clearing out mode again. I have a shelf where all these sheep reside, some I like but others are just dust magnets, I decided to take them all down, I gave some away, some I will keep and a few are displayed elsewhere. I then put all my teapot on the shelf and they look nice. So that freed a spot in my cupboard. So of course that has all been reorganized now. The new dishes did not fit like my old ones so that cupboard came next. I put some things away for Sarah and got rid of some old mugs. It was then that I wanted to dust and went looking for my box of swiffer duster refills and I still haven't found them. I did clean out and organize cabinet in laundry room though. Low and behold I found the mortar and pestle that I have been looking for. I like how that happens. Now I need to stop this cleaning binge and get back to regular stuff but I can't stop its a disease.

I can't say enough how much I love my new dishes, I open the cupboard and see this riot of color and it makes me smile. The manifesting continues, I had been thinking I want a complete set of silverware next. I have a hodgepodge of silverware and I have always wanted a new complete set but Dave and I could never agree on some we both liked. Now last night out of the blue he says someone left a spoon when I had the cookie party in December. He liked it and said if we could find it somewhere he would buy a set. Now this is a nice simple pattern with clean lines that I can live with fine. We went on the internet found the silverware and found out its sold locally at 2 stores so we'll go look at it this weekend. Hmm this is working so well what would I like next....

Here are the journal ideas I talked about last week. One is a little entry for each day and the other was just the page divided in small sections to draw and write whatever comes to mind. It was fun to do.

Kate , That blanket is beautiful!
And I bet you do like your fiesta , I have some older pieces of fiesta that I just love. Those bright colors do have a way of making you smile.
Enjoyed reading about the wildlife refuge and my 2 year old grandson loves to look at the birds (eagles). I was going to post this last night but didn't get a chance.
And tonight when I went to your blog to comment , he had to look at the birds again.
Your journal looks good also.

It's good to see you weaving and what a wonder you are at doing it too. What a treasure for her to have a blanket you wove.
Sounds like you've really been making some great strides in your clean up/resort/redo.
I'm still waiting for "Fraunk" to get the ball rolling around here.
Fiestaware is always makes me smile from the colorful joy.
XOXO

Nice blanket Kate! Beautiful colors. I'm glad to see you weaving again because I know it's what you love to do.

Answer to your question re pastels. They are harmful if you breathe the dust they create, just like a coal miner's lungs can be harmed by breathing in the coal dust. Also, like paints, some of the colors are toxic, making the dust worse. As long as you don't breathe it (I sometimes wear a mask) and keep washing it off your hands so it doesn't absorb, it's a great medium to work with.

I'm really liking the way you divided up the journal page.
