Little castles

Sharon over at All Norah's Art has been doing these paintings with this tall houses or castle. I thought I would try one. I think she is painting the entire piece. I took a little different tact at it. I had the entire background spray painted. I made my houses with collage papers and some stamping and paint on top. My lady's face was done with Shiva paintsticks and the rest Golden fluid acrylics. It seems I always resort to using painsticks when the face I paint is not turning out.

One of these days I will remember that if you do the same thing the same way you get the same results. I think its time I watched Paulette and Sharon's videos on painting faces again. Maybe it will click this time.

Have a wonderful Fathers Day!

Love this painting!! I just watched some videos by Mystele and she had those same tall tower-like houses/castles. I like that you used paper to create yours. It gives them a lot more interest.

Me, too, Kate. Very appealing and very creative. I am sort of stuck in Suzi Blu's class. Need to draw more, seems like practice is the key...except as you say, you need to not keep making the same mistakes over and over again! A little bit frustrating, but I see where you've come in a relatively short time! xo, O

I really love this piece, Kate ! I love how your face turned out - it looks like the inner you, somehow...does that make sense ? And the castle is marvelous ! So says the Queen ! ;)

Happy Sunday !

Oh, I love the spray-painted background! What a great technique. I have recently discovered spray-paint myself--I'm hooked.
Thank you for sharing.

Hi Kate, Thanks for the shout out. Love that. Your castles are great. I really like it when I've inspired someone and they really try it. I've never used paint sticks but if you keep resorting to them.....then you are developing your style. That's what I think. Oh btw, like that you sprayed stenciled a background.
