My broken toe

I haven't posted in afew days. No real excuses just have not felt like it. I need to post for the 12 secrets group an more but I think I will wait till I am inspired.

Having 2 cats a dog and a new kitten in the house has been challenging to say the least. I've dealt with fighting cats all week. Early I got attacked by one of them and the scratches on my neck are a reminder. I just put them outside when they fight but its getting old. Last night one tripped me when I was coming up the stairs and I did something to my big toe. Sure feels like its broke and they can't do anything for toes so I live with it. I was using the cane earlier but now I am on my own. Its just pretty painful when I put any pressure on it. There went all my plans for the day. I am just sitting so I could be doing Art but my hearts just not in it today. Maybe tomorrow things will look up.

My Writers group met yesterday and I have to say it was one of our best meetings yet. We did timed writings and then read our work. What a varied group we are, I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. We have some writers who do humor really well.

Dave wanted to show me a truck he is thinking about getting., So I ask what color, he says a light green. So I think I wonder what color it really is. He is color blind so its always interesting to find out what color he thinks things are. Yes of course the truck was not light green it was beige. He is so funny sometimes.

I got my book back from the Round Robin I participated in last year and it was well worth the wait. It is truly amazing. I will have to make a video about it soon. There are too many pages to do pictures of but I think a video will be easier too.

Ps. In the next few weeks I will be revamping the blog, so if I have removed your link its not personal so don't be offended I am just trying to come up with a new look.

A Book of Hope

It really feels like fall. I almost feel like having a fire but I think I will wait. I have been having a comfort food craving. I am going to make some macaroni and cheese. I have the noodles on to boil, soon I will be grating cheese and making a white sauce and then put it all together. Yumm I can taste it already.

I have been working on this round robin book on the subject of hope. I thought you might like to see my pages.

This is page one I really liked the image of this little angel. I thinking times of despair we all pray even if that is not something we would normally do

I got this image of this girl from my friend Elise and just added words here on living fully.

I liked this quote and the images just seemed to be want to be part of this page. i was playing with color on the background....

I used a paper napkin for the background on this. If you have never used napkins try them as they are really cool. A napkin has 3 layers, you just pull them apart and attach to the page with gel medium

This image just drew me to the idea of hope. I see the women here just discovering something sad and I see her reaching out for hope in the next frame....

So now I move on to work on the last round robin book, the subject Peace. It should be wonderful to work on.

More Bird Pages

It feels so good to have gotten some things done today. I did all the pages the in the Round Robin book that is due later this month. I was going to wait till I got back from Sedona but I know then I will be rushed so I took the time today and did them. This is another theme on birds.

Before I could even work on them I had to clean my studio. There was not a surface anywhere to do any work on. What a mess it has become. I can work in a mess only so long before something has got to give. The rest of my day has been spent doing all these little things for my trip. Its amazing how much time all these little things take.

Fantastic Concert

The Barrage Concert was beyond fantastic. The band consisted of 6 on violin, 2 on guitar and a drummer. The fiddlers danced incredibly while they were playing. It was quite incredible. If you ever have a chance to see them perform go for it. You won't regret it. I'd go see them again in a heartbeat.

These are my final pages for the RR book. They are done and off in mail.

I have been working on a painting. I am taking some in progress pictures that I will post when its done. It will be fun to see how much better I get after taking Paulette's class.

This is after my first session of working on the face. Here you get to see the new easel in use. I love it by the way.

This was the second session. I want to make the neck bigger, its pretty skinny I think. Do some more work on the hair and the face and the background too. I'll be changing the dress color and more. Yes, needless to say It still needs a lot of work.

New site for 100 day challenge

You'll notice something new on my sidebar it says I am a member of the 100 day reality challenge. Its a new social network site for the 100 day challenge. If you click on the link it will take you to my page and then you can see others too and join yourself. If you are all interested in these concepts I encourage you to check this out. It will change your life. I also have a blog over there where I will talk about 100 day challenge goals and experiences.

I have been trying to get these pages done for the latest round robin. They all seem to be this blue aqua shade this time.

The theme was texture and they wanted us to use the theme of our book. Remember mine was kindred spirits, so you'll see new and old photos amongst them. I am not sure if they are really done yet.

I really liked the picture here, of a secret shared between two friends.

I need to add something here but I am not sure what. I have 2 more pages to do but I think I may just make backgrounds and journal on them.

I am headed to see this group tonight. They are a Celtic group that fiddles and dances and totally entertains. They are called Barrage and I think it will be great. I only found out about the concert over the weekend so th only seats left were way in the back but I still think it will be fun. Dave can't go because of his cold so I invited two girlfriends. It should be a blast.
