I finished the pages for the Song Birds book so I thought I would share them here.
I love seeing a flash of blue in nature and bluebirds are awesome.
Another blue bird that I do not see very often. Blue Jays are always fun to see.
A homage to the meadowlark, one of my favorite birds. I love to hear it sing its songs in the summer.
After trying to do a similar drawing 5 times and ending up with disasters I decided to just make a copy of Bird girl and add her to the page. I like her, she definetly has a presence about her.
The last 2 images were on the card stock pages. I was going to journal on them but that didn't happened. Once I created the backgrounds, these birds just wanted to jump on to the page.
I really liked the background on this page, when I added the bird its background seemed to blend right into the color of paint I used. It was very satisfying to see.

The Song Bird book is going to be awesome. I also love to listen to the meadowlarks first thing in the morning with a cup of tea and the sun coming up. So peaceful.
For a moment there, I thought the background on the last page was patterned paper you had bought! It looks THAT good!
Your pages for the book are beautiful and very fun.
*hugs*

I love this so much! It didn't hurt that you used blue a lot. Maybe this will inspire me to finish my bird book. I was working on it late last spring for my visual journal class. I published a few pages in my blog at that time but you probably weren't reading me back then. Then my world turned upside down at the end of March and I never did get back to it.
